3D Printing Basics

This class will teach students how to get designs, use slicer software, and run the 3d printer. We will be doing soft and hard materials and an overview of design tools and the process of designing an object from scratch that prints within fine tolerance parameters so that fitment is correct.

Technique/skills learned in the class: How to prepare files for print properly with slicing software. How to run and maintain a 3d printer. How to diagnose and solve print failures. At the end we will go over what it takes to design from scratch in preparation for 3d Printing and Design to where you will learn to use OnShape and Blender to design from scratch. 3 weeks (three two hour classes)

Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm

Class #2: March 19th, March 26th, and April 2nd.

Requirement: Laptops. Students will need to bring their own laptops, willingness to learn and an open mind!

Skill Level: Beginner
