Summer Clay Club


Monday-Thursday, 1-4pm



This beginning ceramics class will introduce the basic elements of sculptural and functional clay within the tradition of making pottery. Students will learn the procedures of working with clay from beginning use of wet clay, through the various stages to completed, fired pieces. Techniques taught will include pinching, coil building, and the use of a wheel. Basics in tool use, use of underglaze and clear glaze will be included. Registration to this 4 days a week course includes 4-8 finished, fired pieces. This class is reserved for teenagers in 8th-12th grade.
