Drawing is a fundamental skill for artists of all media. Students will explore different drawing tools including charcoal, pencils, and pens.

Lessons will focus on techniques, learning to see and interpret shape, negative and positive space, composition, using still life, photos, and plein air as source material. Free sketch time follows direct instruction and drawing exercises each week.

OCSA will provide charcoal, pencils, ink pens, erasers, blenders, and sharpeners. Participants need to bring an 18”x 24” newsprint pad and drawing board, a drawing pad 8”x !0” or larger.

Description

Janne LaValle will be your instructor. Janne began her private art education at the age of 10 and continued at University of Tulsa, Cuyamaca College and with private instructors in Sedona, San Diego and Oregon. She has led drawing and painting workshops in Oregon, San Diego and Outer Banks, North Carolina.
